As we continue to establish our roots in Horseshoe Valley, we’re already getting to know and love our neighbours. If you tuned in to Breakfast Television Toronto last Friday, you might have heard a name you recognized!
Hitting the Hills at Horseshoe
On Friday, January 17th, Breakfast Television Toronto was live at Horseshoe Resort. The crew and some dedicated viewers came out to enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. Of course, the morning wouldn’t be complete without some games, and six lucky participants won a host of goodies – including two free access passes to Vettä Nordic Spa.
Games ranged from Snow Throw Pro to BT’s Hockey Shootout, and along the way, the BT hosts took viewers on a tour of some of the highlights from Horseshoe Resort, such as their private kitchens, snowboarding lessons, and fat biking through the snow.
With temperatures settled at a crisp -20°C, the morning was definitely a chilly one. However, warm coats, a cozy firepit, and plenty of winter sports to get the blood pumping made it an invigorating way to start the weekend. Viewers at home got to take part in the fun, too, with a special online giveaway for a two-night stay at Horseshoe Resort and four free ski passes.
Our founder, Eric Harkonen, never passes up the chance for adventure. He was up bright and early for the slopes, and while he was there, he ran into a few familiar faces from Breakfast Television.
Roger Petersen is one of BT’s co-hosts, and Frank Ferragine is BT’s weather specialist. Both were part of the BT crew who braved the cold and helped create an unforgettable morning for the visitors to Horseshoe’s winter activities.
Did You Win One of Our Passes?
First and foremost: congratulations! If you’re one of the lucky participants who won two free access passes to Vettä Nordic Spa, you’re guaranteed free admission when we open in late 2020. You’ll be able to soak in our temperature baths, relax in a hammock or the solarium, and enjoy our exclusive on-site bistro and restaurant, featuring Finnish-inspired cuisine with a uniquely Canadian twist.
Vettä will also feature our signature Finnish-style saunas, a massage vista, and a thermotherapy program. With natural walking trails and a focus on reconnecting with nature and with each other, Vettä is designed to help you detach from the demands and the fast pace of your week.
Here, it’s your time to take, and you get to decide how you spend it. We’re excited to welcome you!
