Nestled in the highlands of Horseshoe Valley surrounded by breathtaking views, Vettä Nordic Spa is on track to be Central Ontario’s top destination.
The highly-anticipated Vettä Nordic Spa has announced that it is on track to open its doors in September 2021. This one-of-a-kind Finnish-inspired spa includes one of the largest commercial saunas in North America and is located just an hour north of Toronto, Ontario. Perfectly positioned in Barrie’s backyard and a short drive from Muskoka – Vettä Nordic Spa is an exciting addition to the four-season playground already established in the region.
The Vision of Vetta
Guests will immerse themselves in a hydrotherapy experience that offers professional massages by RMT’s, steam rooms, saunas, warm pools, cold plunge pools, salt rubs, a hot stone room, multiple relaxation areas, and outdoor wood-burning fire pits. All designed to restore health and well-being through the many known emotional and physical benefits of a Nordic Spa.
Vettä’s primary attraction is its emphasis on spending quality time with others and having meaningful conversations during their spa escape. While there is a designated zone for those who wish to relax quietly on their own, the majority of Vettä functions in accordance with the Finnish tradition of chatting and engaging with others. Guests are encouraged to enjoy their spa time with friends or family members. With dual massage rooms, social spa zones and multiple dining areas it’s Vettä’s goal to have every guest feel nurtured and nourished as they relax and create lasting memories with friends and family.
The Nordic Spa
Vettä’s saunas and range of multi-temperature outdoor pools are built to allow guests to enjoy self-guided hydrotherapy, a thermal experience consisting of alternating between periods of hot, cold, and relaxation that is proven to boost the body’s natural immunity and improve overall well-being. Some proven detoxifying benefits of hydrotherapy include: less joint pain, lowered blood pressure, increased oxygen levels, increased immunity, as well as an overall sense of calm and clarity from released endorphins and relaxation hormones. Guests will be able to enjoy their hydrotherapy cycles in the natural surroundings of Horseshoe Valley’s hardwood forests, emphasized by the changing seasons, and fresh country air.
An Added Touch
Guests who crave muscle relaxation or seek specific body pain relief can speak in full confidence with a professional Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) before the appointment begins. All Vettä RMT’s are trained to help guide each guest by describing and agreeing on the specific therapy treatment and techniques used to achieve the desired results and to maximize the experience. Guests will be able to book their time and duration of massage weeks in advance; however, the massage session will be uniquely designed based on their needs on the day of the treatment.
A Culinary Delight
Vettä’s mission is to nurture and nourish the mind, body and spirit. That is why Vettä has an added emphasis on the culinary experience offered. Vettä will feature forest foraged delicacies including freshly picked mushroom medleys and preserved berries. As well as locally sourced, ecologically produced vegetables, responsibly raised grass-fed meats as well as smoked and fresh fish. A true local farm-to-fork experience is the ultimate expression of passion coming from Vettä’s kitchens.
Grab a quick bite upon arrival at the Grab-n-Go Coffee Bar, share an artisan smoked charcuterie board with friends in the Savu Bistro beside the waterfall or enjoy a three-course meal while dining on one of Koivu Restaurant’s outdoor patios overlooking the hardwood forest – guests will be treated to multiple culinary options.
The "Finnishing" Details
There is no disputing that Finnish people know and understand the Sauna experience and Vettä is proud to keep it as authentic as possible. Guests will experience beautiful imported Finnish wood throughout, the highest quality
Finnish sauna heaters along with the unique approach to building saunas. In true Finnish spirit, every detail has been considered and chosen to make things practical and efficient. There are heated floors and pathways throughout and
waterproof RFID wristbands allowing guests to move around easily. Vettä is located minutes from highway 400 yet submerged in the forest and close to a vast farming landscape.
Vettä is a one-of-a-kind experience on track to be Ontario’s top destination.
